Carmen will teach an entire baile por Romeras, along with supporting technique. These classes are often graced daily with Jose Mijita's presence throughout the entire class, which is a rarity in most dance classes. Romeras is one of the palos por Cantinas, a 12 count rhythm with an aire similar to Caracoles and Alegrias, but with more depth of expression. Students of this class should be prepared for intermediate to advance techniques - Carmen does allow students to record each day's work for review and study. Carmen is a patient, skilled, and generous teacher, who demonstrates the style of Jerez with every step. Some dance experience recommended. Jose Mijita's cante class will focus on the accompaniment to this dance.
